Hey everyone! I hope that you’re having a good weekend. I absolutely love listening to music, and it occurred to me on a drive the other day that I haven’t talked about music with you all yet! My taste in music is kind of all over the place, haha, but I think it’s a great reflection of me and where I grew up.
Growing up, my dad was a HUGE Beatles fan, so their music greatly influenced me early on. Because I grew up in Florida, country music also still has a huge influence on me (it still does!) Anyone who’s spent anytime in the South will know that country music is KING. I’m going to Stagecoach and I’m so excited—it has been way too long, but country music is truly the best live, and I can’t wait to see Carrie Underwood just kill it onstage. She’s one of my favorites.
I also really love Zac Brown Band. I got to see him a few weeks ago for a private concert and it was one of the best things I’ve EVER seen. He allowed every person in the band to cover a song the night I saw them and they went from everything from 80s to Metalica, it was incredible! His voice is like a religious experience.
One of my favorite concerts of all time was back when I saw The “Dixie” Chicks — it was so so good. I was so impressed.
Besides country music, I also really love The Weeknd. His Super Bowl Halftime performance made me appreciate him so much. I was so impressed with the music and how he captured his performance on screen. My sister and I also watched him play the first weekend of Coachella for the livestream and he was SO AWESOME. I just cannot believe his stamina, it’s incredible how he can run around the entire time and wasn’t out of breath once. I was so impressed.
One of my FAVORITE artists and boy bands growing up was New Kids on the Block—ok maybe they’re still one of my favorites, haha, they are still at the top of my Spotify artists. I also really love Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Elton John, and Taylor Swift. I had to check and scroll down my most-played on Spotify and it TRULY made me laugh because I am all over the place—I also love Depeche Mode, Cardi B, Kygo, Darius Rucker, Tears for Fears, Saweetie, and even the Jurassic Park soundtrack (it’s so good!)
What are your favorite things to listen to? Do you have any concerts or festivals that you’re looking forward to this summer?
Until next time,
Erin
